ART 384: Computer Animation
Fall 2011:

Brief: Your challenge is to make a model in Maya. For many of you this will be your first model and so I am leaving it pretty open for you guys. Please choose from one of the catagories from below. It does not need to be textured or rigged or anything else fancy but it must be easily identifiable with your subject. Be as creative as you want or as complex as you want but make sure you are realistic with your goals. You must also include either sketches or photo references for your model.


Vehicle: example: tank, space craft, buggy

Organic Lifeform: human or animal is acceptable


Process component:

[ ] 10% Two screen-grabs, converted to TIFFs, correctly named The names should be of the format: lastname_A_whatever.tiff

[ ] 10% The .mb file of the model.
The names should be of the format: lastname_A_whatever.mb

[ ] 10% Use of image of real person, creature, tank, etc... which is turned in with screen-grabs.
The name should be of the format: lastname_A_whatever.tiff

[ ] 20% Model Sheet\Plane.

[ ] 10% Adequate, courteous participation in critique.

Content component:

[ ] 20% Interesting silhouette.

[ ] 20% Looks good in 3D space rather then from a single perspective.

[ ] +10% Interesting pose

[ ] Final grade out of 100%
